Project HEAL: (Help to Eat, Accept and Live)
We are three teenage girls who have started Project Heal with two goals in mind. First, we hope to raise money for people suffering from eating disorders who want to recover, but are not able to afford treatment. In order to raise this money, we have developed a fund called Help to Heal.
Additionally, and equally important, we want to diminish society's obsession with body image by encouraging girls (and all people!) to accept their bodies. People do not have to love everything about their bodies, but it is important that they learn to embrace their perceived flaws and "imperfections". We hope that by providing encouragement and support we can help those struggling with body image issues from developing full-blown eating disorders.
*Project Heal is a
501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. All contributions are tax-deductable to the extent allowed by law.
Feel free to contact us with any comments, suggestions, or concerns. They may be general, about Project HEAL, or personal. However, please keep in mind that WE ARE NOT THERAPISTS OR DOCTORS AND ARE NOT TRYING TO PORTRAY OURSELVES AS EITHER. Still, we are here to support and encourage everybody and would love to talk with anyone.
