About the Theme
february 25 - march 3, 2019
National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is the largest eating disorders outreach and awareness efforts across the U.S., spearheaded by the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA). This year’s theme, Come as You Are, offers the opportunity to invite everyone – especially those who have not previously been a part of the conversation – to get involved.
Whether you’re recovered, in recovery, an ally to someone struggling, or somewhere else on the journey, we invite you to Come as You Are to bring awareness to the reality of eating disorders across the nation.
Roughly one in ten Americans — 30 million people — of all ages, races, ethnicities, and life circumstances suffer from an eating disorder.
At Project HEAL, we believe that full recovery is not only possible, but worth the very difficult fight.
Through Project HEAL’s Treatment Access and Communities of HEALing programs, we are working to reshape the treatment paradigm to deliver access to HEALing for all people with eating disorders, at all stages of recovery.
Your stories matter. Your experience matters. Your recovery matters.
