Eric van Furth, Ph.D., FAED
Eric van Furth, Ph.D., FAED is Clinical Director at Rivierduinen Eating Disorders Ursula, a center of excellence for eating disorders in Leiden, the Netherlands. He is also Professor of Eating Disorders at the department of psychiatry of Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and chair of the Dutch Academy for Eating Disorders. Dr. van Furth is a clinical psychologist, who, after receiving his PhD in psychology from Utrecht University, went on to pen over 80 publications, primarily journals, chapters, educational videos, and conference papers on eating disorders. He has also published three books on the subject and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Eating Disorders (IJED), European Eating Disorders Review (EEDR), Eating Behaviors and Eating and Weight Disorders – Studies on Anorexia, Bulimia and Obesity. He has been working clinically with patients with eating disorders for more than 30 years. Lastly Van Furth is a Fellow and Past-President of the Academy for Eating Disorders.
