Glen Ellen is a well-respected new media and traditional brand strategist focused on business development. She is known for transforming and monetizing brands, negotiating deals, creating targeted marketing programs leveraging social media, developing branded content and directing E-commerce to foster and deliver growth.
In her 15 years as VP/GM at Hearst, she was responsible for a portfolio of 21 brands, and built a collection of lifestyle franchises in apparel & accessories, jewelry, home, food, and automotive businesses, with retail sales of $400 million. She also created the Omni-channel marketing, advertising, social media content and promotional programs supporting the licensed business. Glen Ellen’s recent accomplishments are the creation of teen-based businesses; a fast fashion apparel E-commerce line with brick and mortar retail expansion with projected sales of $9 million, as well as Millennial summer ‘experiences’ with over 300% growth in the first year.
Prior to her tenure at Hearst, she served as a Vice President at Viacom, where she built MTV’s licensed business, was the Director of Marketing of the Consumer Products Group at Disney, honed her strategic and classic packaged goods skills at Grey Advertising as Account Supervisor on both P&G and Kraft, developed Glenswear, her own children’s apparel line, and was a Vice President in the Real Estate Finance Group at JP Morgan Chase.
A believer of giving back, Glen Ellen serves on the Executive Committee of the Fashion Scholarship Fund. She is also the active Chair of the Mentorship Committee, as well as an Advisory Board Member at TrendSeeder, an E-commerce accelerator for innovative startups and Swaay Media, a new platform that elevates and empowers woman entrepreneurs.
