Leader: Cheryl Marron

Cheryl Marron is the leader of the Project HEAL chapter in Saratoga Springs NY. Cheryl is the mother of three boys, ages 20, 18 and 16 and one daughter aged 15.  She works full time as a Medicaid Service Coordinator, working with Individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities.  Cheryl is also a competitive swim coach, which she has done for over 26 years. Cheryl Holds a Master Degree in Counseling in Education from Canisius College.

As a Project HEAL Chapter Leader, Cheryl is dedicated to help advocate, educate, support and help fund treatment for individuals who are impacted by an eating disorder. Cheryl is very passionate about “finding balance and helping people in need”.  Cheryl finds the Adirondacks as a therapeutic place in which people can clear the mind.  On any given weekend she will be snowshoeing in the winter and hiking to a swim on one of the hundred’s of lakes in the Adirondacks. Cheryl is passionate about having fun, living life to the fullest, and has never been afraid to fail.

Cheryl’s favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip combined with Chocolate Peanut butter with sprinkles.



Amon Emeka resides in Saratoga Springs, New York and is the Volunteer Coordinator of the Project HEAL – Saratoga Chapter.

Amon Emeka is a professor of sociology who works with college students to connect them to events and activities related to mental health and eating disorder awareness.

As a Project HEAL Chapter Volunteer Coordinator, Amon is dedicated to drawing local college students and other community members into events and activities meant to raise awareness and begin to combat eating disorders in our community and beyond. He is passionate about helping people understand more of their social worlds better using statistical data.

Amon’s favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerry’s Oatmeal Cookie Chunk which, sadly, was discontinued a couple of years ago.


Executive Council: Tammy Haarman

My name is Tammy Haarman and I live in Saratoga Springs, New York. I am proud to be on the executive board of Project HEAL, Saratoga Springs chapter. My interest in helping this chapter lies in fundraising and educating the public about the various affects of eating disorders.

I have a bachelors degree in science in Health and Human services from the University of Arizona. I love traveling and scuba diving in tropical destinations. In the summers I spend most of my time at my lake house on Lake Ontario with my husband and three daughters.

My favorite ice cream is banana flavor.
