UC San Diego’s Intensive Family Treatment Program
Project HEAL is proud to partner with UC San Diego’s Intensive Family Treatment Program.
This well respected and highly effective program offers families a one-week intensive treatment experience. Parents are taught the tools necessary to successfully interact and manage their child’s eating disorder. Adolescents are taught to understand their eating disorder symptoms and develop healthier coping strategies.
In general, the program accepts adolescent patients between the ages of 12 and 18, although exceptions might be made depending on the patient’s needs and what best fits their family. The whole family is expected to participate, including siblings.
The Intensive Family Treatment Program accepts health insurance.
What if your health insurance plan is not accepted?
That’s where Project HEAL comes in. We encourage you to apply for a Project HEAL grant.
What’s covered by the grant?
- Tuition fees for the program
- Travel to and from San Diego
