Tara Criscuolo is a brand marketer; mental health educator; and disordered eating speaker, writer, and resource provider based in Portland, OR. She’s recovered from an eating disorder, and her healing journey – paired with the loss of a close friend to suicide – spurred her passion for normalizing mental health, dismantling diet culture, and creating a world that's safe for everyone to show up as their authentic selves. She knows that her ability to access a higher level of care when struggling with her eating disorder was because of her many privileges and that recovery is a lot harder for those with marginalized identities. For this reason, she’s thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Project HEAL to help reach and support those the system fails. We ALL deserve access to care.

Tara kicked off her marketing career at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). After four years of working to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide, she followed her dream of moving from New Jersey to Oregon and joined Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest as their Marketing and Communications Manager. She’s since transitioned to the for-profit sector but still regularly gives mental health presentations for NAMI Multnomah and is on the board of AFSP Oregon.

Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from The College of New Jersey, with additional areas of focus in marketing and photography.

She’s a Hufflepuff, rescue dog mom, and a shaky roller skater. Her favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla with rainbow sprinkles, cookie dough chunks, and waffle cone pieces. (It’s all about the toppings!)
