On Friday, October 9th, Dr. Neeru Bakshi, MD, FAPA, Theo Foster, Jillian Lampert, PhD, RD, LD, MPH, FAED, and Carsen Rhys Beckwith, MSW will chat about the barriers to eating disorder healing for Medicaid/Medicare recipients.

Designed for clinicians, caregivers and community leaders, attendees will leave with tools and strategies to support Medicaid/Medicare recipients with eating disorders in their lives.

Dr. Jillian Lampert, PhD, RD, LD, MPH, FAED (she/her) is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagement and Experience and the Executive Director of The Emily Program Foundation. Additionally, she is Co-Founder and President of the REDC Consortium (REDC), the professional association for eating disorder treatment providers across the US and a Board Member of the Eating Disorders Coalition (EDC), the DC based federal policy organization for the eating disorder field. She holds an adjunct graduate faculty position in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota where she advises graduate students, collaborates on research studies, and teaches a course on the management of eating disorders.  She completed her Public Health Nutrition focused MPH and PhD degrees as well as her dietetic internship at the University of Minnesota and her nutrition focused MS degree at the University of Vermont.

 

Carsen Rhys Beckwith, MSW (they/them) is a dedicated advocate for equity and social change, with over a decade of experience addressing health disparities in queer communities, reproductive justice, and organizational development. They are currently the Program Director at Project HEAL, where they lead a number of direct service, community care, and capacity building programs to break down barriers to eating disorder healing. They hold a BA in International Studies from American University and an MSW from Washington University, specializing in sexual health and violence prevention.
